Hi this is my first post regarding my views of Liverpool. Feel free to give your suggestions.
My personal opinion about last night game. Firstly, there is no point to point fingers to who was the worst. No one did well, everybody deserved to be blamed. Therefore to those who said Lucas is shit, Ngog is shit and those idiots who even think Torres is shit, I can only say you do not deserve to be a Liverpool fan.
Secondly, huge tactical errors from Hodgson. I am not saying he is a poor coach, but to play 442 against a 3 man defensive midfield with lucas as your holding midfielder is plain suicide. Gerrard is not god. Lets get things clear, lucas is nt a defensive midfielder, he doesnt have the attributes to be one. His position shld be a lampard style player, movement around the box. Too bad Gerrard is the king, Lucas doesnt play where he works. Secondly, to play 442, the wide players have gt to be players who can deliver crosses into the box, apparently throughout the whole match, Johnson provided that the most. most of the match Jovanovic, Kuyt were drifting inwards, leaving the flanks empty to the opposition. With the players we have, we do not have such players, 442 is unsuitable for us.
Next, Roy took more than an hour to realise Liverpool were in deep trouble before substituting Babel and Pacheco in. What was he thinking no one knows, Trabzonspor in his mind? Whatever it is, i hope he knows what he is doing.
A match of this importance, a heavy loss clearly showed how far we have fallen. It was only two years ago we were 2nd in the league and title aspirations for the next seasons. Obviously Hicks and Gillette have to shoulder most of the blame with their off-field antics. It is also up to the players to show their passion for the club and put in their best performances for the club. Have we missed Xabi Alonso, yes but one player does not make a club.
We have to put the match and focus what is ahead, the Trabzonspor game. I expect to see changes but whatever it is, Liverpool have to show the world they are still capable to be called the "Big Four"
